RETENTION

A feature to increase employee retention in an organisation

               Research Foundations and Underlying Constructs

Research has shown that there is a significant correlation between employee retention and the perception of personal growth within the workplace. When employees feel stagnant and believe that there is no room for advancement or development in their current role, they are more likely to seek opportunities elsewhere. This highlights the importance of fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within organizations. By providing employees with opportunities for skill-building, mentorship, and career advancement, employers can increase retention rates and create a more engaged and motivated workforce. Investing in employee growth not only benefits individuals but also contributes to the overall success and sustainability of the company. Therefore, organizations should prioritize creating an environment that supports and nurtures employee growth to enhance retention and ultimately drive business growth., it was recommended that strategies aimed at improving the workplace structures, job satisfaction and organizational commitment be implemented to promote job security and career development, which were cited as some of the major factors influencing employee retention.(Curtis, S., & Wright, D. (2001). Retaining Employees—The Fast Track to Commitment. Management Research News, 24, 59-64.)
